Car Auto Online - 2014 Range Rover Evoque Convertible, Engines and Features - Land Rover announced they will introduce the concept of Range Rover Evoque Convertible at the Geneva Motor Show 2012. Land Rover also showed pictures of this premium SUV publicly to the world for the first time. Land Rover is trying to give special attention to the future model of Range Rover Evoque. The new Evoque will be the first premium SUV with a convertible model.
The Evoque Convertible has similar base with the three doors Evoque, but the difference is laying on a canvas roof (soft top) that can be folded and a glass windscreen to facilitate the sight. When the roof is not in used, it can be automatically set back under the rear seat cover. To make the Evoque Convertible looks muscular, Land Rover put Titan Silver 21 inch rims.
Land Rover says Evoque Convertible concept is only presented in Geneva as a study in design and engineering, and no decision when it will be produced, but rumors say this SUV will be launched next two years. Hence, the media predicted the engine will be used by Evoque Convertible is the same with Evoque 3. The engine is a 2.2L turbocharged diesel with 2 options of 150 PS and 190 PS.
Another possibility is to use a 2.0 L Turbo 240 PS gasoline engine adopted from Ford EcoBoost and is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 7.1 seconds.
Provided two options for driving, the front wheels as standard and four-wheel variants are supported by Terrain Response System, a typical Land Rover. Additional features in the interior is "Surround" camera, "Park Assist" and infotainment with 8-inch touch screen and special sound system set by English audio expert, Meridian.
